On May 3 an international competition «WSIS Project Prizes 2016» was held in Geneva as part of the Forum of the World Summit on the Information Society where Kazakhstani Project «Data Processing Centers for Public Authorities» was recognized as the best project in the «Information and Communication Structure» Category.
30/5/2016 Kazakhstan newsThe international competition «WSIS Project Prizes» is held annually as part of the Forum of the World Summit on the Information Society. It is the largest world event in the information technologies area and a platform for a dialogue for influential IT-experts from all over the world. This year it took place in Geneva on May 2-6.
Kazakhstan has presented a few projects this year. And one of these is «Data Processing Centers for Public Authorities» which was recognized as the best project in the category of «Information and Communication Structure».
The «Data Processing Centers for Public Authorities» Project is the infrastructure platform for development of electronic government of the Republic of Kazakhstan which allows optimizing financial expenses of public authorities due to consolidation of data storage resources. Data Centers are located in 14 cities of Kazakhstan and monitoring of their work is carried out from the server center in Astana.
Maintenance, servicing and technical support of the «Data Processing Centers for Public Authorities» Project is carried out by Kazakhstani Company named «National Information Technologies».
During the Forum an exhibition of projects presented by the winners of the «WSIS Project Prizes 2016» competition was organized. A delegation from Kazakhstan which consisted of representatives from the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, «Zerde» Holding and «National Information Technologies» Company shared experience related to other Kazakhstani projects which participated in the competition, including «Open Data», «Unified Contact Center», laws «On Informatization» and «On Access to Information».
