On October 6-7 an international Robotics Festival «KazRobotics-2017» was held in Aktobe with the support of the Akimat of Aktobe Region and Kazakhstan’s Association of Automation and Robotics (KAAR).

Thousands of fans gathered in the new Aktobe Wrestling Arena at the first October weekend to support young roboticists at the international Robotics Festival, within the framework of which the final round of the Contest of Scientific and Technical Projects «KazRoboProject» and the finals of the Republican Robotics Championship in 5 categories «KazRoboSport» were held.

Yerbol Nurgaliyev, Deputy Akim of Aktobe Region: «We are glad that this Festival of Robotics is taking place in our region. For us the development of robotics is one of the top priority directions. We strive to encourage children's creativity and as a result we identify gifted children. For this purpose, new facilities are being built, e.g. the Wrestling Arena and the Academy of Creativity, which the Head of State has recently visited and highly appreciated the clubs of robotics and ship modeling functioning there».

The festival was attended by winning teams of qualifying regional tours aged 10 to 25 from 14 regions of the country (totally 141 students) as well as the experts in the field of educational robotics and partners of the Federation.

These youngsters, perhaps, will soon be representing our country at international competitions and championships in robotics.

Vladimir Turekhanov, President of KAAR, the general sponsor of the festival: «This event is of great importance for the development of technical creativity and robotics in the region as well as in the whole country. The festival mainly featured the directions of sports and educational robotics. As for industrial robotics, we are still at the initial stage. The state pays a lot of attention to this. The government has given a number of instructions regarding the development of robotics in Kazakhstan. I think that the results will not keep us waiting».

Alexander Goncharov, Vice President of KazRobotics: «Foreign experts with experience of over 17 years who came to the festival this year highly evaluated our competitions, recognizing the great potential of Kazakhstani children and organizers».

Within the framework of the Robotics Festival, a round table was held with the participation of experts in the field of educational robotics from different CIS countries, which resulted in a strategic memorandum on partnership between two associations – Russian Association of Educational Robotics and Kazakhstan Federation of Educational and Sports Robotics, which will definitely bring about its benefits in the future.
